Back on the road and seeing Tabacco drying

Tobacco is still an important agricultural product of this region. It was common for us to see old barns still being used to dry tobacco leaves. Sometimes smoke was used to cure the tobacco and we would see plumes of smoke rising from the top of the barns, close by right along the road we traveled.
We discovered that people smoke cigarettes a lot in these parts--even clerks inside convenience stores, and people in restaurants!
